As Community Pastor, I have the desire to see our city transformed by the love of Christ as we build His Kingdom through serving families and community. Every life is valuable. All were created with a plan and a purpose in mind—each with a unique destiny that only they can fulfill. But we were not created to do life alone. Jesus is the strand that binds us together and causes us to give account for the hope that resides within us. As we value the interests of others over our own through serving, encouraging, connecting and empowering, we see hope deferred become a tree of life.
I serve as the Pastor for the HOPE CENTER—it’s the place at HRock where we encourage and offer hope for those struggling through the tough places of life. It is my joy to help others discover the freedom they long for; you know, that wonderful place of being comfortable in your own skin, of knowing who you are and really knowing how much you are loved by God. I love to see people discover the nature and character of God that changes the way they live.
We are the Associate Pastors at HRock Church, and together we have a passion to see people discipled, healed up and equipped, ready to fulfill God’s purposes in their lives. Together we oversee the discipleship classes and small group network at HRock, as well as heading up our Guest Services team that welcomes people to our church and helps them get connected into the community here. We are also involved in the Sozo ministry.
We started attending HRock Church in 2004 and immediately began serving. For eight years, we led a thriving and influential HRock cell group in Orange County that became known for its prophetic culture. Each week we were blessed to minister to spiritually hungry seekers and leaders both from local churches and from as far away as San Diego. Shortly before our move from Orange County to Pasadena, we raised up capable leaders to take our place, and the group continues to thrive today.
We serve the family at HRock Church and currently oversee the School of Supernatural Ministry (SSM) and Youth Ministry (Rock High). Our passion is to see the Father’s heart released on earth as it is in heaven and bring kingdom transformation to all aspects of society. After spending two and half years in Redding, Calif., we were called back to Southern California for revival. We have been married for more than 10 years and have three amazing children named Isaac, Abigail and Anna (their names mean “laughter,” “joy” and “favor”).
Together we serve as pastors of prayer at HRock Church. We have led the weekly Morning Prayer meetings since 2007. We also lead prayer on Sunday mornings during the first service at the Student Center. Not only are we so thankful to start the workday with prayer, but we also love the wonderful community we have in the morning prayer times.
Jay and Brittany Koopman serve together as the Directors for Rock High and City Rock, the youth and young adults ministries of HRock Church. Jay’s intense passion for Jesus has brought a message of hope, healing, and restoration to a generation of young people. In 2003 Jay became a youth pastor in Los Angeles and revival broke out in the young adult and youth ministry he led, as it grew from 20 to 500 people in a matter of two years. Brittany has worked in nearly every aspect of church life for the last six years, but her passion is to see families walking and living in health and wholeness. Her desire is to help children feel empowered to love well and encourage parents to feel equipped to lead their families inspired – raising up a generation of healthy future mothers and fathers.
