WOW International travels the nation mobilizing local churches to throw extravagant FREE parties for their cities, especially focusing on lower income families. WOW JAM festivities include food, music, performances, games, prizes, haircuts, bike repair, family photos and much more—everything is free! The night ends with an inspirational message from founders Stephen and Linda Tavani, and many find new hope in Jesus!
On Aug. 30, HRock Church had the honor of participating in the second annual Pasadena WOW JAM! We were joined by many local Pasadena churches, and we all came together AS ONE BODY to love our neighbors!
About 200 volunteers from HRock jumped into this outreach!
We served with joy and love
We were able to share the love of Jesus with shaved ice, face painting, cold water, bike repairs, manicures, haircuts, beauty makeovers and photos!
The Mayor Joined Us
Our beloved new mayor Terry Tornek joined us and shared his support for our work to bless the city!
OUR Neighbors Were blessed
Thousands of our neighbors were blessed and encountered a God who loves to pour extravagant gifts upon His children. Moreover, we made sure to bring the party that is going on in heaven down to earth by dancing and having a fun-filled celebration!
Many were Saved
Near the close of the evening, a gospel message was shared by Stephen Tavani. 161 people gave their lives to Jesus! Not only that, but we prophesied words of life and destiny over them, prayed that they would be filled with the Holy Spirit and prayed for physical healings.
At the end of the night, many were even baptized right outside of city hall!
Loving our city
This outreach provided HRock Church a glimpse of the fresh direction we are headed under the soon-to-be senior pastors Gabe and Monica Ahn. These next-generation leaders carry Papa Ché and Mama Sue’s heart for love evangelism and they are ready to lead us into the next level! Let’s take our eyes off ourselves and look to the poor and hurting of our city!
This is not only the heart of our leaders, but this is God’s heart as seen in Isaiah 58:6-9:
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.”
