FROM EUROPE TO A LAND DOWN UNDER

It’s the start of a new week, and I’m at the start of another journey!

After returning home from my trip to England and the Netherlands, I got to spend a few days in Pasadena with family. And now I am currently en route to River of Life Centre in Brisbane!

I’ll be speaking in Australia, along with Chuck Pierce and Shawn Bolz, for HIM Australia’s 2015 conference: Ruined for the Ordinary! For all Aussies who can make it, join us Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 for a time of welcoming the Kingdom and power of God in new ways that the world has not yet seen!

A GOSPEL OF GRACE SURGING WITH POWER

Last week I shared how you can come closer to God by embracing a life that’s full of both grace and holiness. This time I want to unravel more of God’s truth about His powerful and life-transforming grace.

Here are four ways the grace of God will make you more Christlike and holy:

1. DEALING RADICALLY WITH DESTRUCTIVE SIN

When God’s grace is present in your life, it leaves no room for destructive habits that would keep you from knowing Him more. As Jesus boldly proclaimed:

If your right eye… [or] your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” ~ Matt. 5:29-30

When I first encountered the Lord 43 years ago, God spoke to me to leave my drugs and the lifestyle of immorality that I had committed myself to.

That night—when I was at a jam-packed arena for a Deep Purple concert—was the last time I ever did drugs. God’s grace was sufficient to deal radically with my sin!

2. SETTING YOU FREE—inside & out

Likewise the grace of God is more than sufficient to set you free from bondage!

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me… He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound” ~ Isa. 61:1

I highly value ministries that provide counseling with a focus on inner healing and deliverance. Here at HRock, Pastor Gwen Gibson leads the SOZO ministry (part of the Hope Center). Hear her sharing that it is the Lord’s faithfulness that fights for our freedom:

3. FILLING YOU with THE HOLY SPIRIT

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” ~ Eph. 5:18

Every day I ask the Father to fill me with the Holy Spirit. Think of it this way: If you need to drink plenty of water on a daily basis to be healthy, how much more should you drink of the Holy Spirit?

By asking God to fill you with His Spirit, you’ll be able to stay spiritually sharp and healthy.

4. SPENDING TIME WITH JESUS EVERY DAY

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” ~ 2 Cor. 3:18

I believe that you become like the person you hang out with the most. By spending time with Jesus every day—through prayer, reading and meditating on Scripture—the grace of God will flow through you and you will be transformed, becoming more and more like Him as the days go by!

FROM grace TO GRACE

Next week I’m going to delve into the rich value of the Body of Christ, showing how God extends His amazing grace through the local church.

Until then: May God bless you abundantly!

With Love,
