Last month we kicked off a new series at HRock Church focusing on The Holy Spirit. At our church the Holy Spirit is everything to us. The Holy Spirit is God Himself. He is our Comforter and the Giver of New Life. Our congregation was birthed out of revival in 1994—and today we need His Presence more than ever before!

Here are a few ways we can partner with heaven as we dive deeper into Life in the Holy Spirit:

Let the Holy Spirit Be Your Prophetic Guide

In John 16:13, Jesus gives us an incredible promise: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth … whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Out of the variety of ways God communicates with His children, I’ve identified five main ways the Holy Spirit wants to guide you:

1. He will guide you through His Word, the Bible (Psa. 119:105).

2. He will guide you by speaking to your heart: the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit (John 10:27; 1 Kings 19:12).

3. He will guide you through prophetic phenomenon: prophecy, dreams and visions (Acts 2:17-18).

4. He will guide you through godly counsel (Prov. 11:14).

5. He will guide you through open doors or closed doors (i.e. circumstances; see Rev. 3:7).

The apostle Paul declares that when we’re led by God’s Spirit, we know for certain that we are His children (Rom. 8:14). I don’t know about you, but I really need the guidance of the Holy Spirit! It’s only when we choose to trust in Him that the Holy Spirit will take us along the right road in life.

It’s time to surrender ourselves afresh to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to possess us!

Listen for His voice as you go about your day and rely on His leading. The Holy Spirit is the best trail guide you’ll ever meet!

Be Filled with Holy Spirit’s Power

Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a human being who is filled with the Holy Spirit. It was manifestly clear—in the way He lived as well as the miracles He performed—that He was full of Holy Spirit’s power (Luke 4:14; 6:19).

I believe that every Christ follower is meant to walk in this very same Holy Spirit power! Just look at the early Church: Jesus said they would receive “power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,” and—true to His word—they were propelled into living a dynamic life in the Spirit, with signs and wonders following them (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 6:8).

The same is available for you today! Just cry out for more of God! Those who choose to stay hungry and thirsty for the Holy Spirit will undoubtedly be filled with His Presence and His life-transforming power! (See Matt. 5:6.)

Till Next Week

Later this week, from June 11 to 14, I’ll be heading to Saratov, Russia, to speak at a conference at Word of Life Church. God is bringing revival to Russia!

Keep your eyes open for my next blog, when we’ll look at some more ways to lead a life filled with the Holy Spirit!

With love,
