Yesterday I shared the third message in HRock Church’s newest series, “The Power of God’s Word.” During the past few weeks, I have been speaking about the simple yet dynamic truth that God’s Word is alive and powerful!
Back in 2012 I had the privilege of meeting with Dr. Oral Roberts before he passed away. As he was sharing with a group of 20 leaders who were invited to a private meeting with him, he mentioned the key to the success of his life ministry was simply (1) to receive the revelation of God’s Word, (2) to believe the Word of God and (3) to obey the Bible.
The Benefits of Knowing God’s Word
In that spirit, I want to share the following biblical truths that will help build a good foundation for your life. Each one of us is called to be a person of the Word—someone who not only hears God’s words but acts upon them (see James 1:22-25).
It’s my prayer that you will learn to love, value and use the power of God’s Word!
By knowing God’s Word…
1. you will know God
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” – Philippians 3:10-11
2. You will be esteemed by God
This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.” – Isaiah 66:2
3. YOU WILL NOT BE SHAKEN
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” – Matthew 7:24-25
Here is a highlight from my message about the way God’s Word proves to be a sturdy foundation for life!
4. YOU WILL know the will of god
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105
5. YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” – Joshua 1:8
God Bless You!
