We are in an exciting time—because God is on the move. Just as His prophets foretold, God is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh, and we are currently in the greatest global revival in history.

According to Dr. Peter Wagner, around 180,000 people are getting saved every single day. That’s an estimated 35,000 in India, 30,000 in mainland China, and the rest dispersed all over the world. In Brazil today approximately 40% of the population is born again—and the numbers keep rising!

Amazing things are happening globally. But how many of you know that America needs revival?

Let me share with you my definition of what Revival—with a capital “R”—looks like:

Revival is His Arrival, when the Kingdom of heaven comes and His glory covers the earth as the waters cover the sea.

There are three distinct characteristics of Revival:

1. rekindling first love

The first sign of Revival is when the Church returns to her first love.

When the Lord is calling for His people to return to Him, the word “return” means to repent (see Joel 2:12 and Rev. 2:4-5). A foundational aspect of Revival is that it includes repentance.

Simply put: Revival starts with the Church. It starts when we get right with God.

(In my blog last week I wrote more on this topic. Click here to read more!)

2. A massive harvest

The second sign of Revival is when unbelievers are awakened and there is a mass harvest of souls.

When I first met Christ in 1973, it was during the Jesus People Movement—a time when there were huge numbers of souls saved. I vividly remember it being remarkably easy to lead people to the Lord in that season.

When you look back at the great revivals throughout history, you can see that Revival doesn’t just touch the Church—it touches unbelievers en masse.

Let me just say that when Revival comes to Los Angeles, we will not have enough church buildings to hold everyone in. We’ll have to go to stadiums! I see AzusaNow, the recent gathering that was held in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as a precursor for what’s to come.

I believe we are on the verge of a Third Great Awakening. At HRock Church we see souls saved at every service we have on a weekly basis. But it’s not yet the Great Harvest that the Lord showed me in a dream all the way back in 1983.

I know without a doubt that Revival is coming. We are on the verge of it. Everything that is happening—with stirrings in San Diego, our 10th annual Revival Alliance Conference and the 110th anniversary of Azusa Street—it’s all leading up to the Billion Soul Harvest that Bob Jones prophesied.

We are going to see the Lord pour out His glory over all the earth. And we need to get ready for it.

Much Love,
