You may fulfill a number of different roles in your day-to-day life, but regardless of where you have responsibility and influence, it’s important to keep learning from brothers and sisters in Christ to have a more fruitful and fulfilling life. Here is a list of ten books that made a deep and lasting impact on me to help you succeed in all that you do.

1. Spiritual Leadership, J.O. Sanders

Developing strong leaders is one of my central roles as an apostle. If we want to raise up the next generation to be effective leaders and reformers of society, we must understand the core values of Godly leadership, including humility, vision and integrity. Spiritual Leadership: Principles of Excellence for Every Believer will challenge on you on what it means to lead well and will equip you practically with examples from Scripture and from history.

2. The Autobiography of Charles Finney, Charles Finney

If you want to see people saved and set free in your community, expose yourself to the testimonies of others who have been fruitful and effective evangelists. In my opinion, this is the best book on revival out there. Charles Finney was a fiery, Holy Spirit-filled evangelist who carried the message of Jesus Christ to hundreds of thousands across the United States in the 19th century. His life will ignite your personal passion and vision for revival!

3. Humility, Andrew Murray

One of the most valuable qualities of an effective leader is humility, modeled to us perfectly by Jesus Christ, who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,  but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men (Philippians 2:6,7) This is a classic that will lead you into greater depths of conviction in your relationship with Jesus and with others.

4. Good Morning Holy Spirit, Benny Hinn

Every day, I ask the Holy Spirit to fill me afresh. We can do nothing without His power and presence to renew us, sustain us and guide us as people of God. Good Morning Holy Spirit is a practical book on how to live life in step with the Spirit of God.

5. Discovering the Mind of a Woman, Ken Nair

Ephesians 5:25 says Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Healthy marriages are the backbone of healthy families, healthy families are the backbone of healthy churches and healthy churches are the backbone of a healthy society. Discovering the Mind of a Woman will show husbands (and future husbands) how certain behaviors can negatively affect our wives, and how we can love and serve our wives as Christ does to the Church.

6.  Churchquake! The Explosive Power of the New Apostolic Reformation, Peter Wagner

As my mentor and my apostle, Peter Wagner, founder of Wagner Leadership Institute, has modeled apostleship and spiritual fatherhood to me for many years. He has a wealth of wisdom from which to share to this generation on kingdom ministry. In Churchquake!, Peter writes about the revolution that is taking place on earth today that is the explosive growth of Christianity in the nations. Encourage and equip yourself with this book that will give you a greater perspective on how the Great Commission is being fulfilled in our world today!

7. The Five Love Languages, Gary Chapman

In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus commands us Love your neighbor as yourself, surpassed only by the first commandment, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. Jesus’ commandment to love each other well is foundational to your walk with the Lord. The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts is an extremely practical guide on how to identify how you and how others receive and give love. While the original is focused on the marital relationship between men and women, there are additional versions that focus on all types of relationships.

8. The Purpose Driven Life: what on Earth am I Here For?, Rick Warren

Regardless of your occupation, God has created you to be effective and fruitful in your sphere of influence. This book will help you discover your purpose through the five-fold purpose of living for the glory of God: worship, community, ministry, discipleship and evangelism. When you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), you will fulfill your God-ordained destiny.

9. How to Win Friends & Influence People, Dale Carnegie

As the people of God, we are to prosper and thrive in all that we do, so that we can be a blessing to the nations. This book is a classic guide on how to develop interpersonal skills and qualities of effective leadership that will help you thrive in not only business, but anywhere that you have responsibility and influence.

10. Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth, Richard Foster

Our walk with Jesus Christ is one that takes us from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). But in order to continue growing and thriving in your faith, it is essential to practice spiritual disciplines, including prayer, fasting, meditation, service and submission. Foster lays out how we can practice these disciplines in very practical and applicable ways.
